Rita Harjo Obituary
Rita Clara (Greer) Harjo, a resident and retired restaurant owner of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, July 9th, 2021 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Rita was born December 13th, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri to Josephine Mary (Ellison) and Jack Clarence Greer.
Rita moved to Oklahoma in 1976 where she started working, she then met the love of her life, Frank. They moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1976. Rita loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and family. She loved to cook, she even owned a few restaurants over the years. Rita was also a member of Hickory Ground #I Indian Baptist Church. She was full of life and loved by many people. She will be deeply missed.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Richard Hastings, Tommy Hastings, Bruce Hastings and Jerry Greer, grandchildren: James Murphy, Tehya Bennett, Dylan Terrell, Jeremy Parker and brother-in-law Darrell Belt.
Those left to cherish Rita's memory are her husband: Frank Harjo of the home, sisters: Jackie and husband Mark Wyatt of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Shirley Belt of Bakersfield, Missouri; stepdaughter: Nancy and husband Larry Serna of Albuquerque, New Mexico, daughters: Sandra Parker of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Elouise Lesueur of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Valerie and husband Tyrone Faulks of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Juanita and husband Darrell Sterling of St. Louis, Missouri; stepson: Ryan Harjo of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jack and wife Yolanda Bennett of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Josh Harjo of Oktaha, Oklahoma, nineteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Viewing and Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday July 22, 2021 and 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Friday July 23, 2021 at Integrity Funeral Service, 410 East Trudgeon, Henryetta, Oklahoma
Wake Service will be at 7:00 PM Thursday, July 22 at Integrity Funeral Home Chapel, 410 East Trudgeon, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday July 23, 2021 at Integrity Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at the Murphy Family Cemetery, south of Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Serving as Pallbearers will be: Joe Harjo, Jordan Harjo, Tyrone Faulks, Trae Harjo, Josh Harjo, Quardre Ross Scott Maddox and Pete King Fisher.
Officiating Ministers; Reverend Norman Daniels and Reverend Mitchell Taylor.
