Matthew Guffey Obituary

Matthew Bryan Guffey, 43, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, May 8th, 2023 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Matthew was born December 121th, 1979 in Denver, Colorado to Ivy Lee (Kinney) Dye and William Guffey.

Matthew is preceded in death by his sister, Vanessa Guffey, paternal grandparents, Dewey and Shirley Guffey, maternal grandparents, Albert and Barbara Kinney.

Matthew was raised in Oklahoma where he attended school participating in football. His interests as an adult were computers, games and learning all he could about life. He was a cook for the Salvation Army fora time.

Matthew was a man that made many friends, helping them, caring, comforting, encouraging and helping those that were down. Matthew's path in life was difficult, but he worked hard to improve himself and become more like Jesus his Savior and help anyone in need.

Matthew will be remembered by those people he touched with his kindness. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ivy Lee Dye of Henryetta, Oklahoma, stepfather, Larry Dye and father, William Guffey of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and a host of other family and friends.
