Mary Jo Ruth, 76, went to be with The Lord in Gainesville, Georgia on September 13.2023 after succumbing to metastatic breast cancer. Jodie was born on June 14, 1947, to Harry and Jesse (Pittman) Ruth in Henryetta, Oklahoma, the youngest of three children.
After graduating from Henryetta High School, she went to Oklahoma Baptist University and then Oklahoma State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education. She married Howard Sheward, Jr., and had two daughters, Danielle, and Courtney.
Jodie was preceded in death by her father, Harry; her mother, Jesse; her brother, Don; her niece, Tisa Lackey; and her son-in-law, Sterling Lynn.
She is survived by her two daughters, Danielle, and Courtney, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held with Reverend Dale Huckabay officiating.
