Dorothy Britt Obituary
Dorothy Lucille Patterson Britt, of Hoffman, Oklahoma, was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 95 years of life. She passed away March 10, 2022 in Checotah, Oklahoma.
Dorothy was born to Red and Sally Patterson on February 26,1927 in Tulsa County, Oklahoma. She grew up in Okmulgee and McIntosh Counties in Oklahoma. At 15 years of age, she married Jr. Britt on January 27,1942. Dorothy and Jr. spent their lives farming, ranching, and raising their eight children and two grandchildren.
Dorothy was a member of the Apostolic House of Prayer in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She loved anyone who walked through the door, and was willing to help anyone in their time of need. She showed everyone around what it meant to work hard. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and watching hummingbirds.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Jr. Britt, son Jackie Britt, daughter Barbara Walker, and infant grandson Ryan Anson.
Dorothy is survived by son Johnny Britt of McCloud, Oklahoma, daughter Linda Britt of Checotah, Oklahoma, daughter Cathy Barron of Henryetta, Oklahoma, son Jerry Britt of Hoffman, Oklahoma, daughter and son-in-law Esther and Randy Clay of Glenpool, Oklahoma, daughter Sally Britt of Tulsa, Oklahoma, granddaughter Andrea Britt of Henryetta, Oklahoma, granddaughter Rachel Triggs and husband Earl of Haskell, Oklahoma, 16 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Viewing for Dorothy will be on Monday, March 14th 2022 from 3:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Integrity Funeral Service.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, March 15th 2022 at 2:00 PM at Integrity Chapel, Pastor Aaron Burwell will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Hoffman Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Tyler Clay, Britt Raney, Matt Britt, Weston Britt, Chris Anson and Clay Anson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rusty Walker, Billy Ray Britt and Jack Britt.
Arrangements and services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service, 410 East Trudgeon, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
