Charlene Beebe

Frances Charlene Beebe, a longtime resident of rural Henryetta passed away Wednesday, April 14th, 2021 in Okmulgee at the age of 88. She was born September 10, 1932 in Coalton, Oklahoma to Noble Smith and Julia White Smith.

She married Arliss Collett January 8, 1949, to this union four children were born, Arla, Butch, Julie, and Shan.

She married David Beebe on August 5, 1965 and two children, Maria and Dava were born.

Charlene sang and played the guitar on the radio as a teenager. Even until a few weeks ago she was still singing. One of her passions was fishing. She brags that she knows every fishing hole on Eufaula Lake.

Charlene never met a stranger and when you met her, you didn't forget her. She retired from Safeway after 15 years working in every department. Cooking, gardening and taking care of her flowers were some of her very favorite past times. She loved family cookouts and camping. Charlene was quite the prankster and had a quirky sense of humor. Laughter was always heard when she was around. She will be deeply missed by her family & all that knew her.

Charlene was so proud of all her children and loved to tell anyone who would listen about how many family members she had and that she was an only child.

She is survived by her children, Arla Collett, Butch Collett, Julie Scott & husband Tony, Shan Collett, Maria Wilhite & husband Dusty, & Dava Beebe. Twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of friends.

Viewing for Charlene will be from 5-8 pm on Saturday and 1 - 8pm Sunday.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 19th at Integrity Chapel with Pastor Ace Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
