Annie Brown Obituary

Annie M. Brown, a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, departed this world on
September 18th, 2020, at the age of 87. Annie was born September 15th, 1933, in Council Hill,
Oklahoma, to Birdie Brandon Potts and Hector Potts. Ann spent her childhood in Hitchita with
her three sisters, Jo, Deanie, and Jessie Mae, and brother, Sammy. Ann married her soulmate
Earl, known by everyone as Pete, on August 2nd, 1951, in Kingman, Arizona. It was during their
time in California that Pete and Ann were blessed with their two sons Earl Junior and Jack. Pete
and Ann spent several years living in California before returning home to Oklahoma after the
death of her father, Hector. Pete and Ann spent 48 years loving each other and raising their two
sons in Hitchita.
Ann was an avid gardener and loved to spend hours tending to her flowers. Ann and her husband
Pete spent their early years running their stores in Hitchita. Ann was involved in the community
and loved to help at the Senior Citizens Hall visiting with everyone. Ann was always quick to
volunteer for the Hitchita Fire Department and enjoyed attending the gospel singings with her
sisters.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, her parents, Hector and Birdie Potts, sisters,
Josephine Brown, Gearldean Hammons, and Jessie Mae Carson, and her brother, Sam Potts.

She is survived by her sons Jack Brown and wife Sherri of Katy, Texas, and Junior Brown of
Schulter, Oklahoma. Ann was the grandma of Ashley Brown, Laura England and husband
Brandon, and Tyler Brown and wife Darby. She was the great-grandma of Payten, Caileigh,
Colton, Preslee, Connor, and James Peter. Annie leaves behind a host of other family and friends.
