Johnny Allan Horner

Johnny Allan Horner, a resident of Henryetta, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Henryetta at the age of 71. Johnny was born on February 14, 1947 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Homer Talmadge Horner and Marguerite Inez (Stephenson) Horner.

Johnny married the love of his life, Vanessa Kay Baker on August 5, 1998 in Las Vegas, NV. They remained happily enjoined for 20 years prior to his death. Johnny was a longtime member of Cedar Baptist Church in Red Oak, OK. Johnny served in the US Army and the Army National Guard before his honorable discharge. He was a member of the American Legion of Okemah, the National Guard Association of Oklahoma and the Enlisted Army National Guard of the United States.

Johnny was an active carpenter, loved photography, hiking, and antique collecting, always in the company of his wife and family. Along with his wife, he ran as a participant in several marathons. Johnny was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite I Horner; his father, Homer T. Horner; a daughter, Angela Horner, and two brothers, Homer Louis Horner and Jack Horner.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Vanessa Kay Horner of the home; two sons, John Allan Horner of Durant, OK and Brian Kyle McNeese of California; two sisters, Frances Hendricks of Tulsa and Wanda Chrysler of Henryetta; nieces, Julie Hendricks Atkins of New York, Vickie Tessener of North Carolina, and Kelly Howell of Florida; a nephew, Stephen Hendricks of Tulsa; grandchildren, Ethan Horner, Naomi Horner, Finley Horner, Carrie Welcher, Casey Donathan, and Amelia McNeese; as well as other extended family and many good friends.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm.

A funeral service for Johnny will be held at 10:00am on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Melvin Palmer officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery with military honors provided by U.S. Army. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.

Pallbearers will be active military personnel from the U.S. Army. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Sam, George Lee, Larry Renfro, Ron Gott, Ronnie Titsworth, Jack Crenshaw, Howard Crawford, and Hugh Jackson.
