Long time Henryetta resident, Lena T. Ferrero, passed this life on July 31, 2008 in Henryetta at the age of 97. Lena was born in Chicopee, Kansas, on January 6, 1911 to Joseph and Anna (Penna) Ferrero. Her parents moved to Henryetta when she was 3 years old. She attended Henreytta public Schools, and thereafter she went to Cleveland, Ohio and lived and worked there for many years. She returned to Henryetta when her mother passed away.
Lena is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Anna Ferrero, a brother Joe Ferrero, a sister Mary Sahlica, & a brother Ernest Ferrero.
Lena was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Henryetta.
She is survived by one sister, Kathryn Cortassa, a longtime Henryetta resident now residing in Midwest City.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2008 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Peter Phung, officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Shurden Funeral Home
