Mable Jane Jackson, a longtime resident of Henryetta was born on August 8, 1929 in Indianola, Oklahoma. Leaving this world on August 8, 2008 her birthday of 79 years.
She was married to the love of her life Virgil Jackson on December 18, 1947. They celebrated 60 years together. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Myrtle Rhoades, infant daughter, Betty Jane Jackson, 3 brothers, Bill Rhoades, W.C. Rhoades, and Clinton Rhoades, 3 sisters, Nell Garett, Reba Brassfield, and Elsie Sims.
She is survived by her husband Virgil Jackson of the home,
3 daughters, JoAnne Carnes & husband Gary of Okmulgee,
Peggy Oatman of Wichita, Kansas,
and Marilyn Arnold of Morris, Oklahoma,
her grandchildren, Amanda Rouk and Jason; Phoenix, AZ
Shane and Kevin Carnes; Okmulgee, Oklahoma,
Staci Carter and Justin, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;
Kyle Powell of Henryetta,
2 sisters, Virginia West & husband Ray of Henryetta,
And Ruth Baker of Oklahoma City,
One brother, Clyde Rhoades & wife Jeannie of Henryetta,
And her sister-in-law, Lena Rhoades of Jacksonville, FL.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Thompson, Jack Keller, John Hadyn, Everett Prevett, Bob Herring, and Jim Herring. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Green, Dr. Gary Lovell, Larry Jozwiak and grandsons, Shane Carnes, Kyle Powell, Kevin Carnes.
Funeral Services will be held at the Henryetta Church of Christ on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Vance Smith and Rex Walcher officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shurden Funeral home.
