Andrea Shields

Andrea Shields-Funeral Director/ Professional Embalmer/ Manager

Andrea Shields grew up in Preston, where she graduated from Preston High School in 1994. She is the granddaughter of Kathy Huskey of Preston, the late Gus Huskey and the daughter of Rhonda Henson of Okemah.  Andrea moved to Seminole to pursue her degree in Nursing but after working for the Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, she felt like her heart belonged in the funeral business. She changed her major and received an Associate Degree at Seminole State College.  In 2001, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree as a Funeral Director/Professional Embalmer at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.  After graduation, Andrea worked at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home in Tulsa but after a few months, Andrea, being a small town girl, decided to work in the Okmulgee Community where she has worked for the Shurden Funeral Home in Okmulgee as a Funeral Director/Embalmer for 9 years. Andrea is a member of the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association. She is an Oklahoma Licensed Insurance Agent so she can take care of your prearrangements and she serves as an Ambassador for the Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce.  Andrea is married to Mark Shields of Preston and they have two daughters, Dominique Shields and Shiann Swearingen.
